#56-Prisma Review: The App Which Has Wowed the Entire World

Pictures used to be highly valued decades ago, before the advent of smartphones. People used to take the act of taking photographs very seriously. We met a nonagenarian at an event and somehow the discussion went to the evolution of photography. He recounted a family event in his teenage where a photographer was flown in from the UK for a family photo. He and his family members took hours of preparation before the photo session. Now, the situation has changed. A four-year-old takes photos with his parents' smartphones which was too hard to imagine decades ago. Statista reports, the US alone has approximately 207.2 million smartphone users. There are approximately 2,082.7 million smartphone users in the world. Imagine the vast amount of images they generate every single day. According to Hootsuite Blog, "Instagram users [...] now share an average of 70 million photos per day."

The art of photography has not lost its glamor and it never will. A stunning photograph will never lack an audience. Coming to the masses, nowadays changes in technology allow ordinary people to edit photos like pros. The apps which are feature-rich and can modify photos in interesting ways, sometimes through filters and sometimes through masks or come with other similar features have lately gained massive popularity, as people spend a significant amount of time on their smartphones every day and these photo-editing apps let them unleash their creativity which in turn allows them to temporarily forget the stress associated with everyday life.

Prisma is the latest addition to this crowd of photo-editing apps, but it's unique in more than one ways. Prisma was launched in June, 2016. Prisma is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) app. The official website of Prisma states, "Prisma transforms your photos into works of art using the styles of famous artists: Van Gogh, Picasso, Levitan, as well as world famous ornaments and patterns." Prisma supports more than 30 styles. It also allows fine-tuning of the filters. The IG profile of Prisma has some photos which will really blow you away. The app has an attractive user interface. The app's innovative nature has attracted the attention of the entire world. More than 300 articles have been published already on Prisma on leading publications. The IG profile of Prisma has almost 191,000 followers. The Facebook page of the app has 133,038 likes. On Twitter, the app has already gained more than 6,000 followers. The app has a 4.2 rating on Google Play and a 4.5 (All Versions) rating on the App Store. It's free on both the stores. The Android version (1.1.36) is 4.4 MB while the iOS version (2.5) is 112 MB. The Android version has been downloaded more than 10 M times already. The app has attracted a lot of celebrity users too, including Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of Russia, who posted a reworked photo of a Moscow skyscraper on IG. The creator of the app is Russian developer Alexey Moiseenkov, who developed the app in only 1.5 months, The Moscow Times reports.

The app has already won millions of hearts due to its novel concept, beautiful user interface, impeccable photo processing power, and fast sharing capability. The huge success of the app stands as an homage from the entire human civilization to the works of the greatest artists of all time. We rate the app five stars out of five. We wish Prisma more success in the days to come.
