Theme Creator is a chrome app which lets you create your own Google Chrome themes. This awesome app is from Theme Beta, a platform for theme designers where they share their wonderful themes. Although chrome is an excellent browser with a stunning user interface, sometimes the default user interface fails to satisfy us, especially those of us who do a lot of web browsing. After all, who wants to see the same user interface week after week, month after month, and year after year. So, we install themes in chrome, themes which suit us, themes which refresh our mood, themes which make browsing a pleasant experience. A lot of exciting chrome themes are available online. But, sometimes we want something more. With Theme Creator, we can create a theme exactly according to our preferences.
Installation takes a second. After installation, you will automatically be taken to the chrome apps page. There you will see Theme Creator with all other apps you have installed. When you click on the Theme Creator icon, you will be taken to the Chrome Theme Creator page. Start by providing a name for the theme you are going to create, for instance, "Busy Body". The next task is image upload. On Theme Creator, you can upload both png and jpg images. Theme Beta recommends png images. Orientation should be landscape. In the preview window, you can see how the background image looks and also play with options before you find the favorite combination. We used center, bottom, no repeat, and fill screen. Next, you need to generate colors. Colors are generated from the uploaded image. What you just uploaded was the NTP background image or New Tab Page background image. On the Images tab, you can upload images or choose colors for Frame, Toolbar, & Tab Background and you can upload images for Frame Overlay & NTP Attribution. When you hover over an option, Theme Creator will show you the areas of the browser window the option applies to. If you don't like an uploaded image, you can also cross it off and upload another image. On the Colors tab, you will see the theme colors, you can change if you don't like. When you are satisfied with everything, it's time to pack. On the Pack tab, you will see three options. You can pack and install, you can pack and download, or you can pack and download zip file. As you are just getting started, we recommend, pack and install. We went into the details to give you the full picture. You can choose to ignore the advanced settings and follow the numbered steps on the Basic tab up to pack and install. After you click on Pack and Install, it might take some time, if the image you selected is large and if you are on a low bandwidth connection. If that happens, keep calm and take a coffee. There is also the option to save a theme online.
You can submit support requests on the Theme Creator Chrome Web Store page. Follow Theme Beta on Twitter. Start creating awesome themes right now. If you want a custom chrome theme created, get in touch with A Joshing Moth.
