There is a buzz in the silicon valley and beyond. A new real-time communication technology has arrived that will take us lightyears ahead in terms of speed, scale, and performance. In developer meetups, you will never meet one who has not been impressed by this platform's features. The name is Agora, agora.io. For around five years, it has been the talk of the town as far as real-time audio and video engagement is concerned. Developers have expressed great satisfaction over the platform's features, more specifically the way it exposes them to developers who build apps on it. One important metric that determines whether a platform will last for a long time is developer satisfaction. We are going to explore the Agora dashboard to understand what is it that makes this platform every developers' first choice in RTC.
A search of the phrase "agora io dashboard" on google lists it as the first result. It ensures developers new and experienced can find it quickly on google. The credit goes to the developer team who has taken great care to optimize it for google. If we click on that link we reach sso.agora.io login page where we can either sign up or sign in. The site uses a secure https connection to ensure the information that is sent to the site does not fall into the wrong hands. The registration takes a second.
When we sign in we reach the dashboard homepage. The home page presents a brief account overview. We can see usage stats, transaction details, useful documentation such as, quickstart and SDKs and code samples etc. Presenting links to interesting and relevant articles is a great way to ignite a developer's passion for innovation and guide their efforts. A developer can visit one of these articles and go deeper into agora.io's rich documentation. The integrated docs section lists helpful articles on voice call, video call, audio broadcasting, video broadcasting, interactive gaming, recording, signaling and if all these are not enough there is more. Under usage stats, we see voice usage and video usage (in minutes) stats for projects. Clicking on the chart (usage) button we can view a nice usage stats chart and a table for a particular project. We have the option to get the stats for the last 7 days, 30 days, or current month. We also have the option to select a custom date range. We can get audio, video, and video hdp minutes. The table shows total data, in addition to the three fields mentioned. We can also see transcoding and mini app stats. We can select h264 or h265 transcoding. For each of them, we get audio, video sd, video hd, and video hdp stats. The mini app stats page shows audio and video stats. On the home page, under usage stats, if we click on the edit button for a particular project, we can edit project details and options such as, name, status, app certificate, and signaling token debugging switch. From the menu bar on the left, we can conveniently reach project management, members, finance, usage, and the home page. The user interface is smooth and highly intuitive. No part of the dashboard is obscured. Every part of it is easily accessible. The dashboard has a feel of unassailable elegance attached to it and is perhaps the number one reason behind the platform's ever-growing popularity in developer circles.
