#124-Domino’s Pizza Web App Review: Dandy, Delicate, & Delicious

As people keep getting more dependent on online food delivery services, we cannot forget the food that started it all. Pizza was probably the first food ordered online. It happened in 1994. Online pizza delivery has come a long way since then. However, the core elements remain the same. In this article, our team reviews the domino’s pizza web app. We visited www.dominos.co.in. The web app has a landscape mode issue on desktop at browser window size 1024x576 (“Landscape Mode is Currently not Supported. For the best experience please rotate your device.”). The home page is 2.6 MB. It has a load time of 2.25 s. The green order button is prominently visible on the home page. It will attract most of your attention when you are on the page. The button has an exceptional sense of exuberance attached to it. When you scroll down, the button appears in a sticky header banner. The home page also presents coupons & offers & gift cards. One can also download the domino’s app on android or ios. When you click the big order online now button, you will be taken to the menu page. The menu page has a zoom issue on desktop at browser window size 1024x576. You will probably be in the bestseller category. You can also check out other categories, such as, non-veg pizza, pizza mania, or pasta pizza party. We went to the non-veg pizza category and decided to order a creamy tomato pasta pizza - non-veg. You can select your preferred size and crust. Regarding size, we had 3 options. The regular option serves 1 person. The medium and large options serve 2 and 3 persons, respectively. Crusts available were, new hand tossed, wheat thin crust, cheese burst, & fresh pan pizza. We chose regular new hand tossed. Normally, when we add a product to cart on an e-shop, the next thing we do is check out, unless we want to continue shopping. Here is where the domino’s pizza web app is different. When you a pizza to cart, you will likely see an option to make your pizza more delicious, such as, I want to add extra cheese, for a price. If you do not want it, you can simply press the no thanks button. You also have the option to permanently disable the modal. When you add a pizza to the cart, a checkout card will appear on the right with the pizza and the subtotal. The fun does not end there. You can add more pizzas, change no.s, or remove an added pizza. You can also customize a pizza before adding to the cart. In the customization panel, you have options to select the size, crust, extra cheese, veg and non-veg toppings. When you press the checkout button, you will get redirected to the cart page. On the page, you will see all the selected items. You can go back to the menu by clicking on the explore menu link. At the bottom, you have the option to purchase additional items such as, a 7up. We added a tomato ketchup. At the right side panel, you can add your delivery address. You can log in to use your saved address. We entered our address. In the offers section, you can avail offers and coupons. In the price details section, you will see the break up. Clicking the place order button will take you to the payment page. There you can choose, cash on delivery, credit card, debit card, net banking, upi and wallets, or giftcards/ evouchers. We chose the credit card option. Immediately after we made the payment, we received 3 messages on the provided mobile no within a span of 30 minutes. Here is the 1st one confirming the order, “Enjoy the All New Domino’s Pizza. Your order no. is 37. Click https://ps.jublfood.net/di/REDACTED.Png for your invoice. The 2^nd one was a thank you message, “Thanks for choosing Domino’s. We will deliver your order hot & fresh at the earliest|Order no. 37 |Amount: Rs. 1536.00 |Track order@ https://bit.ly/ REDACTED”. The 3^rd one was an out for delivery message, “Dear Guest, your order is out for delivery with Subhasish Mondal. Click on https://dmn.trckin.net/REDACTED to track your order.” We also received an order confirmation email after placing the order. After making the payment on the web app, we got redirected to a thank you page, where we got to see tracking information. Domino’s delivered the pizza in less than 45 minutes. Items delivered were, pizza, box, bag, receipts, del monte quality tomato ketch up, 2xoregano seasoning, chilli flakes, 3xdomino’s pizza printed napkin. The pizza was delicious. We are giving domino’s 4/5.
